This project involves a colonial 18th century building that was purchased by Kesher synagogue and was converted from an office bldg to a synagogue. This bldg is an historic landmark in the township of Englewood. As a result of its historic features, no work to the exterior structure was allowed. A part of the process was to convert the existing structure into a community bldg that can contain up to 200 people at a time. Part of the interior structure work was to reinforce joists, beams, headings and footings, and reorganize the interior to meet the community needs. One of the biggest challenges was to add a new fire alarm system that meets year 2006 code into this structure while maintaining the 18th century old world charm of the interior. Shuster management had to deal with a variety of aspects in this job such as structural issues, code issues (fire sprinkler, fire alarm) architectural issues, interior design issues, various inspections, etc.

Shuster Management was proud to contribute and donate the entire time of interior designer at no charge to the community. To date Kesher synagogue stays an important part of the Englewood and Tenafly communities and Shuster Management as a company felt proud to be a part of the renovation of the synagogue- Our Company likes to give back to community and one of our missions is to be involved in projects that unite people together.
